Clark Pacific is proud to play a key role in the construction of Samuel Merritt University’s new flagship campus in Oakland (Samuel Merritt University to Build Flagship Campus in Oakland City Center | Samuel Merritt University). This 10-story, 250,000-square-foot health sciences tower will serve as a central hub for the university’s next generation of healthcare professionals, featuring a dynamic mix of classrooms, teaching and research labs, simulation spaces, student clinic areas, and administrative offices.
Clark Pacific manufactured and erected 268 prefabricated panels, totaling 37,503 square feet of concrete skin, contributing to a resilient, high-performance building envelope that also highlights the university’s architectural vision. Featuring a decorative concrete facade, created in collaboration with Innovative Brick Systems, integrates a unique artwork installation along one side of the tower, further distinguishing the building’s design.
Set to house a new, 41,000-square-foot Health Sciences Simulation Center, this state-of-the-art facility represents a major milestone in SMU’s goal to double student enrollment over the next decade. The new campus underscores the university’s 114-year commitment to Oakland and its mission to lead in health science education.
