BIM / VDC Approach
Clark Pacific’s design approach recognizes the value of virtual design and construction on projects and leverages BIM as a central source of data for the entire project lifecycle. The company has already developed its BIM as a way to improve project quality, optimize schedule, plan logistics, validate project geometry, understand project variation, and develop estimates. With Clark Pacific on your team, you won’t have to waste time on time-consuming technology or integration issues (“coming up to speed”), but rather on what matters most to the owner: producing quality products on-time and on-budget.Schedule
Clark Pacific’s efforts typically go beyond what is currently understood as 4D modeling. We typically leverage the model and project information to support logistics, resource, and construction visibility. This virtual logistics planning provides insight for the company to address the schedule effectively for this proposal response and improve upon the project goals of a timely, safe and high quality construction site. Clark Pacific uses this virtual logistics model to optimize processes such as trucking demands, yard layout, and production planning.Personnel & Team Coordination
Clark Pacific recognizes that central to any VDC effort is having experienced personnel on staff developing models in collaborative processes that improve the project’s outcomes. Clark Pacific’s team includes in-house staff and consultants who have worked on similar size projects and truly understand the BIM process and level of collaboration required for this project. Clark Pacific’s staff is experienced at participating in co-located modeling and coordination efforts. Our staff understands the project needs of timely updating of models, 3D redlining, the process of virtual requests for information, the process of clash detection to resolution, and other VDC strategies. Clark Pacific also understands that much of coordination happens at a distance to the co-located site, and we are technologically ready to virtually coordinate and communicate with the entire team.Design-to-Fabrication from the Model
When the project team coordinates with Clark Pacific’s models, you are coordinating with the actual information that we use to build all of our work. Clark Pacific details our models to the degree of information necessary for project support. But beyond that, our models are leveraged to fully support fabrication directly from the model. There are no intermediate steps in our integrated process. Below is a brief list of the direct-to-fabrication processes that Clark Pacific leverages from our models:- Rebar fabrication
- Miscellaneous Metal fabrication
- Bill of Materials
- Drawings (with no “dress-up” in CAD!)
- Diagrammatics (Work Instructions)
- 4D site logistics
- Physical site coordination
- Safety information
