Clark Pacific served as both the precast contractor and Architect of Record for this two-story, 42,000 SF and 119 stall parking structure located within the city limits of Sunnyvale, CA at 479 N. Pastoria Parking Structure. Although the parking structure was smaller than most of Clark Pacific’s parking garage projects, there were a couple unique features that added levels of complexity to the project. First, and most difficult was that the area available for the garage was very small and difficult to access. Because of our precast engineering department’s vast experience, an efficient erection sequence was developed that did not impede on the construction of the four-story office structure just dozens of feet away.
Second, one of the owner’s main concern was to provide a 10’-2” minimum clear headroom in the ground level to provide for a more open feel which added additional constraints to the small site. BIM modeling played a critical role in the fabrication and erection process and facilitated well-informed communication between all the trades.
